Trusting the Universe

Even when it seems like the gods are conspiring against you the Universe is aligning things in your favor. If you go with the flow and take advantage of the opportunities which are placed in your path everything works out for the best in the end.

I took a four nights/three days trip in February to La Vegas with one of my best female friends. We had a wonderful time. We probably could have engaged in a few more wild activities (well there is always next year) but all in all it was a fun time and I was happy to spend time with her. We hadn’t seen each other in over a year. At the end of the trip she got out fine but my flight was cancelled. I reserved another night at the hotel and rebooked my flight. The final leg of that flight was also canceled because of an ice storm in Atlanta. Instead of panicking I put on my thinking cap and went into action.

The first leg of the flight was to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I remembered I have a friend who lives in New Jersey on the border of Philadelphia. I gave her a call to find out whether I could spend a few days with her. She said yes. Second plan of action, call up the airline and reschedule my flight for a later date. Mission complete at no extra cost. Instead of worrying and going back and forth to the airport each day trying to get out with the hundreds of people whose flights were also cancelled I get to take an extended vacation. I had nothing to complain about.

It’s like the Universe knew what was about to happen, or knew it was about time for a visit to my friend in New Jersey. I say that because my friend and I had lost touch for a number of years and had only recently gotten back in contact with each other. A mere few weeks before I didn’t even have her phone number, then right before I’d need it her sister reached out to me on Facebook and helped us reconnect. Everything happens in its own time if we are open to receive it.

  1. “go with the flow and take advantage of the opportunities which are placed in your path everything works out for the best in the end.” Great advise and examples of how you put it in practice.
